October TBA, 2017 – Hula Kahiko At Hawai`i Volcanoes National Park
Free; park entrance fees apply.
This outdoor presentation of traditional hula and chant features a Big Island halau from 10:30-11:30am. This event will take place rain or shine at the hula platform located near Volcano Art Center Gallery. Audience is encouraged to bring sitting mat and sun/rain gear. Indulge your passion for passion fruit at the Annual Lilikoi Festival! This year’s festival is being held at the Maku’u Market just outside of Pahoa (15-2131 Pahoa-Keaau Rd., Pahoa.) From 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., this popular and fun event features a lilikoi themed cooking contest, cooking demonstrations, vendor booths, live music and keiki activities. Entry fee $5; children 11 & under free. Vendors and cooking contest entries are still welcome!

October 28, 2017 – Annual Hawaii Artist Collaboration Auction
Holualoa – The event fee donation is $20; keiki are free; From 4 – 8PM
39 artists from four countries and fourteen art disciplines collaborate with each other to create original works of art that no ONE person could imagine! Jewelers, painters, woodworkers, blacksmiths, ceramicists, sculptors and more, embark on a week long journey of artistic collaboration culminating in this auction event which showcases the artwork created during this unique experience.
The auction will be held at the picturesque Malulani Pavilion & The Great Lawn at the Holualoa Inn. The public is invited to experience and admire the results of the collaborations, meet and talk to the artists, as well as bid to win the art through both live and silent auctions.

The Canada-France-Hawai’i Telescope and Keck Observatory are sponsoring the Waimea Solar System Walk from 10am-2pm. The walk turns Waimea into a scale model of our solar system with the sun at Keck and Pluto/dwarf planets at CFHT. Prizes for the keiki, refreshments for all. Costume contest at 1pm! Event is free.

October 28, 2017 – Hawaiian Sunset Saturday

This once a month community event celebrates Kona’s spectacular sunsets with live Hawaiian music and hula on the lawn at Coconut Grove Marketplace starting at 5:30 pm to 6:30 pm every last Saturday of every month.
Everyone’s invited to bring beach chairs, blankets and enjoy beautiful live Hawaiian music and hula while the sun is setting. When the music is over, enjoy a stroll on Alii Drive, and check out the many food venues and shops.

Get your tickets now for the Annual East Hawai`i Jazz and Blues Festival! This swingin’ event on indoor and outdoor stages includes a lavish pupu buffet and dessert station, wine tasting and spirits. Proceeds benefit the Hawai`i Island Veterans Memorial, Inc.
