The 7th annual Big Island jazz and blues festival will bring in Grammy jazz and blues legends. To be held oceanfront at Mauna Kea Beach Hotel.

June 8, 2018 – World Oceans Day At Hapuna Beach State Park
Time: 9:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m., Free
Join Hawai’i State Parks and partner organizations for World Oceans Day at the Hapuna Beach South Pavilion. Learn about Hawai’I’s incredible ocean resources and how to protect them. The event is free, but there is a $5 per vehicle parking fee for out-of-state visitors.
A beach clean-up will take place from 7.30-9 a.m. Exhibit booths and activities will be in the South Pavilion.

June 9, 2018 – King Kamehameha Celebration Parade And Free Concert – Kailua-Kona
Time: 9:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m., Free
Adorned in the flowers and colors of the Hawaiian Islands, regal pa’u riders on horseback will represent each of the eight islands, led by their respective princesses and the pa’u queen. The floral parade will also feature hula halau, equestrian units, marching bands, and more. The parade begins at Walua Road and Alii Drive at 9am, and travels through Kailua Village to Palani Road past the pier, ending at noon. A Ho’olaule’a (crafts and music fair) featuring Hawai’i recording artists Hoku Zuttermeister and Sistah Robi will be held after the parade on the Hulihe’e Palace grounds. June 11, 2018 – North Kohala King Kamehameha Day Celebration
Time: 7:45 a.m. – 4:00 p.m., Free
From 7:45-9 a.m.: Lei Draping at the statue of King Kamehameha in Kapa`au will take place;
From 9:00-10:30 a.m.: enjoy a traditional Pa`u Parade with horses and riders adorned in flowers and colors representing each Hawaiian Island.Parade from downtown Hawi to Kamehameha Park in Kapa`au.
From 10:00a.m.-4:00p.m: Ho`olaule`a (crafts fair) at Kamehameha Park, where you can eat local food, see masters create traditional arts and crafts, watch beautiful hula dancers and listen to award-winning Hawaiian musicians.

June 23-24, 2018 – Annual Cultural Festival – Pu`Uhonua O Honaunau National Historical Park, Honaunau
Celebrate Hawaiian culture at this free, two-day, family friendly event. Learn about lauhala and coconut frond weaving, kapa beating, traditional lei making and more, both days. In order to protect fragile resources and preserve the historic setting, picnicking, coolers and chairs are not allowed in the Royal Grounds. No food is available in the park. Featuring all four traditional races – Marathon, Half Marathon, Quarter Marathon & 5 K. An estimated 2,000 runners of all ages and abilities will be participating for prizes, health and enjoyment, and raising money for charities. The race will start and finish at the Waikoloa Bowl at Queens’ Marketplace. The Kona Marathon course has one gentle climb not exceeding 175 feet above sea level. This once a month community event celebrates Kona’s spectacular sunsets with live Hawaiian music and hula on the lawn at Coconut Grove Marketplace starting at 5:30 pm to 6:30 pm every last Saturday of every month.
Everyone’s invited to bring beach chairs, blankets and enjoy beautiful live Hawaiian music and hula while the sun is setting. When the music is over, enjoy a stroll on Alii Drive, and check out the many food venues and shops.
