The year 2006 brought a new beginning for Aloha Vacation Cottages with new owners.
We welcomed many first-time and a number of returned guests.

As you will know, we settled right in, auditioning the new snorkel gear, always glad to return to the cottage in the evenings. Birds, fruits, palm trees….as one says: “Paradise!” Thanks for your care and the way you made us feel comfortable and welcome. On our return (a week later) for a second visit, it felt as if we were already friends coming home….(perhaps the “Brooklyn” connection)…and if we lived closer, we could “hang” together. There is about you a force field of good energy, kindness and hopeful karma – and when we remember Hawaii, no doubt it will be your warmth and the rainbows outside your cottages that will come immediately to mind. As you unpack the past, and start your new life here, and look to the future, perhaps you’ll remember us, as well. We certainly hope to cross paths again with you. Love-Aloha, peace and mahalo.

We can’t believe that we need to go home today. This has been a fantastic vacation! The beaches are fabulous. Even the great sand beaches have excellent snorkelling all round. Our splurge was on a snorkel cruise. It was well run with very attentive staff, but the snorkelling wasn’t any better than what we found on our own (Spencer, Hapuna, Kapa’a, old sugar factory). We did really enjoy the Royal Kona Luau. The food was very tasty and the show fun and exciting. It was definately worth paying a little extra for the preferred seating. We had a great view of the show and were called first for the buffet. We were all able to do exactly what we wanted in the same place. We spend money on the Captain Dan Whale Watch and were dispointed. We saw more whales from just watching from the shore. We loved every minute that we’ve been here and have found this house to be a very welcoming and relaxing base camp. We’ll be back! Natasha, Bob, Simon (7) and Peter (10), Lake Elmo, Minnesota

Thanks so much for your warm welcome and good company! Of all of our trips to the Island, this was our favourite. Coming home each day to this cosy, comfortable cottage was a real treat! Everyone anyone could need or want is right here. Thanks for the fresh garden fruit and for your yummy banana bread. Visiting with us in our cottage, and watching the brief storm together that rolled in was a good feeling and experience. We wish the best to you. When we arrived at this beautiful island and reached our cottage, we found the door was open to our wonderful, comfortable cottage, full of hospitality….and we thought, this is the American way to welcome us…and gradually here on the Big Island we felt it is so. Thank you so much for your warmth and hospitality. You have thought of everything in this cottage…a home away from home! It has been so nice and relaxing to come back to each day after some of our long treks. On our last morning here, after last night’s refreshing rain, we woke up to the most beautiful rainbow over the mountains in front of the cottage. That is the third one we’ve seen here, so far. Thank you for sharing your wonderful cottage. It was just as described online! It was truly a “home-away-from-home”, very peaceful (even with Halloween evening and the 375 trick-or-treaters…what fun). What a great trip! Big Island highlights for us were: Bamboo Restaurant – the music of John Keawe, Coast Grill Restaurant at Hapuna Resort – sunset, stars, Hawiian music, great food – Vanilla Mill, coffee plantation tour; Beaches nearby: Mauna Kea – smooth as silk snorkelling!...Kahalu’u Beach Park; Resorts to visit: Hilton Waikola Beach Resort (over the top- drop dead gorgeous), Kona Village – Polynesian style.
