Bamboo: it’s a popular place. They serve lunch and dinner. For dinner, there’s local grass-fed beef and always the catch of the day. There is also a gallery shop featuring local artists.

Zest: Italian restaurant next door Sushi Rocks in Hawi on the main road. Not the typical Italian food. Casual. You can bring your own wine (there is a cork fee). Cash only at this place!
Kapa’au
Kings View Cafe: Maybe the best pizza on the Big Island. The brick oven pizza takes about 15 – 20 mins but it’s delicious. Fresh, hot and a beautiful crust. A great choice is the pesto chicken pizza. You won’t be disappointed.
Sammy D’s: local food including fish, chicken, meats, salads. It’s casual with some outdoor and indoor seating.
Fig’s makes local lunches, both the stick to your rib kind and lighter fare like oriental chicken salad.
Snack Shack: For lunch there’s sandwiches and pizza.
