Dinner Cruises

Blue Sea Cruises: The only real dinner cruise currently is with Blue Sea Cruises. Their boat is the Spirit of Kona. It leaves from the pier in Kailua and goes to Keauhou Bay (and back). There is dinner, entertainment, and a glass bottom area with lights shining downward into the bay so that the manta rays are attracted.   The boat (big, blue and yellow) leaves from Kailua pier around 6:00 p.m. and motors to Keauhou while serving free mai-tais (limit) and a buffet dinner. There is live music. They take about an hour and a half to get there going down, and about half an hour on the return!  When you get to Keauhou Bay (right outside the Sheraton Hotel), they turned on the big lights under the boat to attrach the mantas. There’s a huge viewing window right in the middle of the boat, and we could all sit or stand around it and watch the mantas. The boat stays there for about half an hour and then it turns to head back to Kona pier.

Not dinner but….: The Body Glove Historical Cruise. It leaves from Kona and goes to Kealakekua Bay. Along the way they share history, point out landmarks, serve pupus and drinks and have a nice little buffet; not to mention sunset.
